Who I am

Culinary Renaissance Woman!  I provide three main services to our wonderful community here on Vashon: Nutritional Counseling, Whole Food Cooking Lessons, and Personal Cheffing Services through my business, The Joyful Kitchen. 

All of these services are personalized and tailored to meet your individual needs. 

My purpose is to help you develop nutritional goals to improve and enhance your health, whether it be under Doctors orders or your own volition, I will see you through to success. 

If you join the other islanders who have decided to hire me as their personal chef my objective is to provide you with meals that are mouthwatering, scrumptious, and nutritionally balanced. 

I have my Masters Degree in Nutrition from Bastyr University. I am licensed as a Certified Nutritionist through the WA State Department of Health.

 

Bio

I chose to become a nutritionist because of the central role food has in our lives.  We all need to eat.  The confusion lies in what we choose to eat.  The daily food choices we make have a dramatic effect on our physical, emotional and mental health.  Through the services I offer I clear up this confusion and guide you on a food journey that is about discovery and delight.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters Degree in Nutrition from Bastyr University. I am a Certified Nutritionist, licensed by the WA State Department of Health. I have been helping a wide variety of people and audiences develop a joyful and sustainable relationship with food.  I’ve taught and teach individuals, couples, families, children, community classes and held a professorship at a nursing school.
